Where should  the controllers of the access control system be installed?

The card readers of the access control system are connected to the controllers (sub-stations). The controllers can be installed in the direct neighborhood of the door (most often above the door, above the suspended ceiling). This way the distance between the card reader and the controller is relatively short.
Another option is to install the controllers at a centralised location, for example in a technical room.
