Ziggo Dome

Since the opening in June 2012, the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam-Zuidoost has been a bustling hive of activity. It played host to a seemingly never-ending stream of leading national and international singers and bands. Increasing visitor numbers indicate the growing popularity of what is now known as the music Mecca of the Netherlands. An event venue of this type requires specific security measures and systems. Consequently, a future-proof, integrated platform has been installed in order to satisfy the demanding access control and intrusion detection requirements.

Because Ziggo Dome was looking for a system that could offer more than just access control and intrusion detection, Nedap’s AEOS system was finally selected as the winner. Ruud Bongers, Facility Manager, explains why: ‘We also wanted to be able to set up links to other building systems in the future, such as the heating system, the air conditioning system, the beer cooling system and, something that is very important here, the lockers for visitors. So we were actually looking for something that offered building management system functionality.’
